Lucidchart Now Available Inside Microsoft Word and the Microsoft Office 2013 App Store Curso de Word 2013. 5.3. Autocorrección.
(PRWEB) December 04, 2012
Lucidchart, the leading online diagramming solution for both novice and expert users, announced today that its popular application can now be launched and used from within Microsoft Word 2013.
Unlike traditional Office plugins, the Lucidchart application is web-based and hosted right inside Microsoft Word. This means that users who install the app will be able to draw new Lucidchart diagrams, or see their existing diagrams and easily import them, all within Word.
?It?s great to see a company like Microsoft embrace open web standards and allow web applications to integrate with Office products,? said Brian Pugh, VP of Engineering at Lucidchart. ?This is an incredible change to the Office architecture, and the app integration is one of the best that I?ve seen because it?s based on the open web. It?s quite a departure from the old-school plugin technology of the past.?
Office 2013 is in beta mode, with full release of the App Store and the Office Suite slated for early next year. However, users can preview the new Office to see the Lucidchart-enabled version of Word. Currently, Lucidchart is only available for Microsoft Word, although implementation for other Office programs is ongoing.
?The ability to import Lucidchart diagrams into other productivity tools, including Office applications, is a very popular feature request from our users,? said Lucidchart CEO Karl Sun. ?We?re thrilled that Microsoft Word users can now draw a flowchart or any other type of diagram and embed it into a document, allowing them to easily communicate their ideas visually.?
The Lucidchart app can be found in the Office Store, the new app store from Microsoft, and is free to install and use. Users can install Lucidchart using the ?Apps for Office? button found in the Insert tab of the ribbon. Once the Lucidchart app is installed, clicking on the ?Apps for Office? button calls up a task pane that shows a list of the user?s Lucidchart documents, which can be selected and inserted into the document. To edit an existing diagram or create a new one, users click on the ?edit? or ?create? buttons to open Lucidchart in a web browser. In addition, users can access Lucidchart?s premium features by upgrading their accounts for a monthly fee.
“We know our users spend an incredible amount of time using the Microsoft Office suite,” wrote Vivek Narasimhan, SharePoint product manager, in a blog post announcing the app store. “We also know that many critical tools and many critical information sources live on the web or in applications outside of Office. We’ve built the store so you could integrate the very best of the web with the powerful features of Office and SharePoint.”
