If apple had launched their iPad with this touch/type cover these hipster douchebag tech journalists would be creaming over themselves to talk about how innovative and brilliant and revolutionary it is. We all notice how bias they are. Its funny that these tools at the Verge don’t notice it themselves.
The Zune being obsolete is, and has been, a myth. You can still buy a new Zune from Amazon, Wal Mart, Best Buy, etc. It is still supported by Microsoft. With that said, it will be phased out as Windows mobile devices are growing in popularity. Dedicated mp3 players are being over taken by mobile phones and tablets – even ipod sales have decreased. The ipod used to make up like 60% of Apple’s revenue, now it’s only like 5%.
Look the Surface was only released a year ago, and what does the Xbox have to do with it? The RRD was mainly caused by people not placing it in a well ventilated area. I have had a 360 for over 2 years now and have had no issues, and I use it daily. The Xbox has a huge market share – it is a serious gaming platform. You may think of it as a joke, but who cares…
That is correct – not to mention that the original tablets were very niche devices only used by tech professionals, etc. Apple just created a dumbed down version, stuck a phone OS on it, mass marketed it and made it seem as if they invented the tablet… The first ipad was a turd – it wasn’t until the ipad 2 that it started to really take off.

In my opinion Surface 2 is the perfect device for office and personal use. The remix project looks promising too.
If Apple made this, you hose heads wouldn’t be talking about how little of them they would sell, you would be going down on Apple about how great this is. It is painfully known how you guys are just an Apple marketing donkey.

I totally agree with your comments. I have a Surface RT and I’m definitely getting the Surface 2. Used to have the iPad (1st gen) and then Nexus 7 & 10. They fail miserably in the productivity dept.
I don’t know how old you are, but Microsoft invented the Tablet-P.C. running a full Windows XP back in 2001, the reason it failed was its heavy weight combined with the fact that Wi-Fi was rare back then and the battery didn’t last as long as it does today, Apple just put a Phone O.S. on it, but Microsoft made Tablets as a P.C. form-factor, not some toy.
Microsoft is a software company. They dont specialize in hardware and try to hard too. Consoles are irrelevant because they are not pc’s. Therefore dont argue a consoles reputation with a computer. Second this idea is innovative, give it that, when I was ten I imagined something futuristic like this. Ipads are close and surface has its own issues and both are flawed the day microsoft and apple merge is the day true software can be made.
So pumped for the Surface Pro 2!!!
oh yes that explains why xbox 360’s get so many red rings of deaths that its practically an internet joke these days. or perhaps their mobile strategy sucks a large cock, because ipad still outsells another other tablet model. surface is among the lowest in market share. even after a price drop. i like to call this a very simple game. you have apps and you sell tablets. you don’t have apps, you fail and sell nothing and never catch up. microsoft is not going to die, but google and apple > MS.

well the mouse thing i don’t care so much about, it was like 40 bucks. but dude 2 console failures, and one time it failed right about when i was going to get my completion acheivement, but the stupid xbox failed, and i had to do all missions over again when i got replacement. Windows 8 i personally despise to its very core for obvious reasons. but I think the realiability of xbox can be used as a serious arguement against microsoft’s ability and expierience with hardware. one fail ok.2 fails NO
Im not trying to sell you MS products, it don’t matter to me what you choose. But you are mistaken about the reliability of Microsoft OS’s You also cant blame MS for HP issues. I have two machines over 6 years old, no issues at all. I alos have Win8 and it blows the doors off MACbooks, for a lot less too. And im speaking from experience. I support MACs n PCs, they both have their issues about equal.
But your points are valid, just judging a co like MS from a failed mouse or Xbox is ridiculous.
well honestly i owned so much apple stuff and not even one thing has failed on me yet. but microsoft i had their sidewinder mouse fail on me and the xbox TWO TIMES, and i also had my windows laptop blue screen to death, although thats kinda HP’s fault. but it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. and i was just trying to help the other person out because i am trying to show him that apple products are pain free, they just work man, they don’t fail, at least not as often. why r u angry at me?
