In an enterprise environment, I can’t see anyone rolling out W8. It’s not
millennium bad, but it’s going to be skipped while W7 turns out to have a
life span similar to XP. The only way I see it adopted is in a BYOMD
    scenario

  2. 439okey says:

hate windows 8.1 wish I could get windows 7

  3. Boyd Mc says:

A very helpful video to watch, will help to show you some useful tips on
using Windows 8.1. Don’t forget to download 8.1 free in the windows store
app if your already running Windows 8.

  4. Cooby Eggman says:

I wrote a whole thing about why it still sucks on my 720p non touchscreen
laptop, and then remembered I have better things to do on Windows 7. Nice
    video though.
I would just like to ask though why 8.1 will not sleep, as it’s wasting my
electricity. Wake timers disabled, set to sleep after 5 minutes. Seems the
only solution is to force it.

  5. cryptomandon says:

Still sucks for a desktop and Laptop with a keyboard and mouse where a
touch screen takes your hand away from the keyboard and mouse adding to the
time it takes reducing productivity. Windows without the touch screen is
way faster and requires the Windows 7 interface. Metro interface is only
good for tablets and phones that do not have keyboard and mouse. Microsoft
is still not listening they need 2 different OS’s. Also the new Retail and
OEM versions is a straight money grab.

  6. nickscomputerfix says:

    Nicely done video.

  7. David Rowe says:

Nice and informative. Would have been better to see the screen enlarged so
we can see what you are talking about.

  8. Lucas Timmons says:

so if I already have windows 8 do I get this upgrade through an update or
do i have to buy another retail copy

  9. Philip Opdenbrouw says:

    Well done.

  10. Arsh Sanwarwala says:

I have a quick question, how did you make your color tranparent it’s so
    cool

  11. disowned122 says:

How is Windows 8 for gaming? I am building my first rig and looking at
purchasing 8.1. Do you all think this is a smart choice compared to just
    windows 7?

  12. Peter Paul says:

Plan. Outline. Rehearse! These three things doth an excellent video make.
    Please try them!

  13. Christopher Sharp says:

    its a piece of shit….

  14. chengduFTW says:

  15. InternetBusters says:

i still look up to windows 7 guess we gotta go to 8 aww man

  16. Zach Luevano says:

I just got it and it works perfectly on my gaming desktop with a mouse and
    keyboard obviously…

  17. Daniel Parra says:

I think you missed Windows Update: it was a huge pain in the ass in W8.

  18. gravyy ddawg says:

    *updates*

  19. David Wise says:

    Love 8.1. Great video!

  20. ElectricChipz says:

what build and version is this windows 8.1 in the vid and what is the
    latest public release build?

  21. razorree says:

it’s WORST Windows EVER ! modern apps are buggy, i’ve tried a few, Pictures
app didn’t work (after waiting 5-8 secs. i closed it), camera app too. News
app shows some news, but restarts randomly after 10-20 seconds of work.
Start Screen try to manage >50 apps. to use SkyDrive you have to login as
MS account – not your local account !!!! what local accounts are for ???
maybe MS should delete them all !! Now i’m sure not to remove Windows7 from
my desktop computer for next 10 years.

  22. carson wotell says:

let me guess you didnt have time to activate trust me i know or you got an
    invalid key

  23. DaBoss720 says:

i like what 8.1 is going but i get the people that still want win 7

  24. Chris Diplock says:

No the fact I am a microsoft partner and web developer and have built in
excess of 300 base units from scratch makes me a PC Tech, you are just a
gimp and on your own in loving Windows 8.

  25. BlackEvoProductions says:

Low IQ SIR! Just because you browse through the control panel doesn’t mean
your a pc tech. Get educated!

  26. Akio Morte says:

Surface 2 is an excellent product. Fast, smooth and stable. Yes, it is
behind in number of apps. But if you are not an app whore you will be just
as happy with it as you would be with an iPad. Plus, it comes with the kick
stand and free office. Also, you will have much better video viewing
experience on the Surface because of its 16:9 aspect ratio. Everything is
letter boxed on an iPad because of its weird resolution and aspect ratio.

  27. Calvin Desmond says:

Good god man, Coming from a person who can talk unintelligibly sometimes, i
can barely understand what you are saying. Now, since i haven’t seen any of
your other reviews i can’t blame you if this is how you normally speak, but
please stop trying to beat the world record for fastest review

  28. Akio Morte says:

Surface is useless without a keyboard? Windows 8 had performance issues?
Windows RT had issues on Surface RT. I also don’t understand people
complaining about RT not running desktop programs. You want an ARM
processor to run full photoshop? Does the iPad run Final cut Pro? No it
does not. I have windows 8 since the day it came out and it is as stable
and smooth as it ever could be. Every basement dwelling ugly virgin retard
is an expert after reading couple blog posts about a product. Fucks like
these are one of the main reason why excellent products like Surface,
windows 8, windows phone cannot take off. Also, take your shit before
doing your reviews. Can’t understand most of what you are saying.

  29. German Almaraz says:

Most of the time I use my Surface without the touch cover :/

  30. Ingiomar Martina says:

    Stoptalkingsofast.itsveryannoying.areyoubeingthreatenedorsomething?terrible
    review..

  31. Cuneyt Mertayak says:

Nice summary: it is ask about ms office:-)

  32. NINJAxPANDA101 says:

    This guy is a goober

  33. Sean Godsell says:

Why is RT still around. Just get rid of RT.

  34. groMMit1981 says:

WHY is it USELESS without a touch or type cover? Poor reviewing.

  35. Frankie Teo says:

MS is pushing these surfaces WITH the keyboard as the differentiation
factor not stating that they are NOT included in the starting price!. Yes,
the Surface will work without the keyboards but in all videos the keyboard
was showcased that I cannot “not miss” it. This would be misleading
advertising unless it is stately clearly in text that pricing for the
keyboard covers are separate. Still too high priced compared to the
    competition.

  36. Javier Costilla says:

    Surface 2 $449 – free Office Home and Biz 2013 priced at $220 = Surface 2
tablet is really $229…..plus 200GB of SkyDrive and free year of
Skype…… that sounds like a great deal to me for a tablet.

  37. Þorvarður Kjartansson says:

why do people always say the surface is basically useless without a
keyboard. When you don’t have a keyboard, what you’re left with is a tablet.

  38. Marius Sigurdsen says:

Do you have a gun pointed at you?

  39. Philip Ly says:

i don’t understand when he says 8 was hard to use and 8.1 solves that
issue. they’re… pretty much the same experience. he’s just had time to
learn how to use it. basically, if you give something time and attention,
you learn how to use it. people don’t give windows 8 enough credit.

  40. Josh Marsden says:

First! And this is awesome, I’ll probably get it 😀
