Hi Sergey. Working with big documents or multiple files is not really your concern. The VM in itself is, because it can really eat a lot of your precious RAM. A couple more open documents will not make that much of a difference. My advice is to run the VM headless and keep things to a real minimum. You could offload the VM on your host by running the VM on another physical pc. Or use a real windows box which you can use with winconn as well

Hey, I just wanted to say I was able to get it working. I would like to figure out how to automatically run the phpvirtualbox server without my intervention at bootup. Once I realized I had to run it, even if I don’t log into it, then winconn did as it’s supposed to. Thanks for your videos.

Exactly. All these workarounds are nice, but they all lack something. In my opinion, the Wine-based solutions like PlayOnLinux or CrossOver work best, but it remains emulated crap that just doesn’t feel as good as the real thing. M$ should make Office native for Linux, but I don’t see that happening any time soon. Shame though…
Sure, it’s called Conky and it can be obtained from the repo’s quite easily. Conky is basically a fair alternative to Rainmeter which we are all used to on Windows. I use a customized Conky config which I found on DeviantArt, but I’ll add a link to the video description because I can’t paste it in this reply textbox :C. Many other configs exist all over the interwebs to suit your own needs.
