Yeah, I felt the same way you did on how the ad lacks color. Not to mention the song near the beginning and the expression on that women’s face didn’t really seem very happy.

I agree, especially how this video interprets the future, the video is shot with some pretty basic colors. For instance there are no vibrant red’s or yellow’s everything is steel to blue to green, like making the ad seem like a working space (everything has a place, and nothing is different) It lacks excitement…

Why do things no longer have borders? Surely they’re fairly important?

    Interesting video though.

I’m surprised to learn that this is Microsoft Office’s promo as I feel that a part of this vision has already been created by iPad and iPhone. ^_^

Because that’s their target market. Remember at heart of the concept PC’s, IT gadgets etc are non-necessary luxury items. For a little reductio ad absurdum, you wouldn’t really expect Lear to try and sell G5’s to an Inuit would you?

  15. Tobslerone says:

Some pretty cool concepts, but the theme of the video appears to be “Improving communication so you never have to actually talk to someone again”…

Meanwhile in India and China workers are making these products for over 12 hours a day and not making enough to buy these products. These videos by Microsoft are somehow always about business people and not common folk or laborers.

We have flying cars. We just know better than to give them to consumers who, when behind the wheel, boast some of the highest death rates in the Western World. =P
It’s more likely that flying cars’ll be slowly legalised once driving is automated.
